Sales & Lodging Tax
Collecting and Remitting Sales Tax
Businesses and individuals that sell merchandise, deliver anything into the town (including construction materials), or provide lodging to customers within the Town limits are required to collect tax and submit a sales and lodging tax return to the Town.
Remit Taxes Online:
A new online system has been implemented that will allow you to obtain your license, file your returns, and make payments in one convenient location online. You must first create a business account.

Closing an account: Please send an email to blt.str.support@govos.com providing what city it is in, town license number, business name, and closed as of date.
Business License Applications
If you do not already have a business license, you will need to apply for one prior to opening your business or making any sales in Snowmass Village. Once a license is issued, you will be able to file your returns and make payments online.

Colorado SUTS License
If you currently hold a Colorado SUTS license and or do not have a physical presence within Town limits (e.g. office space, working, or delivering on a regular basis), according to Senate Bill 22-032, you are not required to pay for a business license within the Town of Snowmass Village. Do not pay your renewal fee.
SB 22-032 does not apply to contractors. If you or your business perform work within the Town of Snowmass Village, you are still required to obtain a business license. Please contact the Finance Department with any questions at (970) 923-3796.
Sales & Lodging Tax Overview
Snowmass Village Sales Tax is 10.4 percent and includes the following:
- State tax: 2.9%
- Pitkin County tax: 3.6%
- Roaring Fork Transportation Authority tax: 0.4%
- Snowmass Village tax: 3.5%
*The 3.5% sales tax is remitted directly to the Town of Snowmass Village. The remaining 6.9% (state tax, county tax, and transportation authority tax) is remitted directly to the State.
Snowmass Village Lodging Tax is 12.8 percent and includes the following:
- State tax: 2.9%
- Pitkin County tax: 3.6%
- Roaring Fork Transportation Authority tax: 0.4%
- Snowmass Village sales tax: 3.5%
- Lodging tax: 2.4%
*The 3.5% sales tax and 2.4% lodging tax are remitted directly to the Town of Snowmass Village. The remaining 6.9% (state tax, county tax, and transportation authority tax ) is remitted directly to the State.
