Permit Procedures & Applications

The City of Pelham requires permits and inspections to ensure safe building, effective land use, quality site planning, and coordinated development. Development Services, through the Building Department, issues all building permits for property development within the City of Pelham.

All contractors must apply for permits through the City of Pelham's Citizen Access Portal. This software system enables our staff to be more efficient, accessible, and responsive to citizens' needs. Digital applications of all types, including building permits, can be submitted through the portal, eliminating the need to submit paper applications and plan sets.

First, you must create your user account. During this process, you will be given the opportunity to choose a username and password that is unique to you. When setting up your account, you must designate a single email address to receive email notifications about application status updates, invoices, and process information. An email will be immediately sent to you for the purpose of confirming the email address you entered. You will need to click the “confirm email” link in this setup email. Then, you can log into the portal at any time in the future using your chosen username and password.
