The Local Services Tax (LST) rate for the City of Bethlehem is $52 for per person who is employed or self-employed within the City of Bethlehem. Most employers withhold this tax and list it as the "LST TAX" on an employee's pay stub or W-2 form. Self-employed persons are responsible to file/pay the tax themselves quarterly.
The 2023 due dates for individual LST quarterly payments are:
- April 30, 2023
- July 31, 2023
- October 31, 2023
- January 31, 2024
Individuals with a net annual income of less than $12,000, US Military (Active or Disabled) or Clergy may be eligible to file for an LST exemption. If you work for more than one employer, it is your responsibility to show your pay stub to other employers, so that they do not withhold the tax a second time.
Individuals are required to file/pay LST quarterly returns if:
- if you have not paid or had the $52 LST deducted from one or more employers
- have not filed and received an exemption for LST
