AJPD Provides Tour for Aspiring Police Officers

Kids AJPD Tour

The Apache Junction Police Department (AJPD) recently provided a tour to youngsters Tayler and Caleb Benedetto. The Benedetto children are determined to be police officers when they grow up.

In addition to touring AJPD, Tayler and Caleb met a special member of the police force, Daimont, AJPD’s K9 officer. As a memento of their visit, the future officers were given a miniature replica of Daimont.

The miniature replicas of Daimont are available for a minimum donation of $20 through the Friends of Apache Junction to help raise funds for various programs through the Police Department’s Honor Guard.

The K9 replicas are available at the following locations:

Paws and Claws Care Center – 725 E. Baseline Road

Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department – 1001 N. Idaho Road

Generous Donors Help To Improve The Quality Of Life For Our Cats And Dogs!

Thank You Cards (2)_Page_1

This past December, Chief of Police Thomas E. Kelly and the Friends of Apache Junction, sent thank you letters to all of the folks who have donated to Paws and Claws Care Center (PCCC). The letters also represented an end of the year appeal for donations. Those donations are to be used for the purchase of outdoor kennels for the small and medium size dogs. The kennels will allow the dogs to be safely housed, while the inside kennels are thoroughly cleaned. This will enhance the efforts of PCCC to maintain the most stringent health standards for approximately 765 dogs annually. These standards help ensure the likelihood of the dogs being adopted and loved. The response was amazing! Approximately $2,800 was received for PCCC. These funds translate into a lot of wagged tails and licked faces.
