COLUMBUS, OHIO – Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) Director Matt Damschroder today provided a quarterly update on unemployment overpayments. The overpayments are attributable to both fraudulent and non-fraudulent activity in both the traditional unemployment and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) programs.
Ohio's unemployment rate was 4.0% in April 2024, up from 3.8% in March. Ohio’s nonagricultural wage and salary employment decreased 2,500 over the month, from a revised 5,640,100 in March to 5,637,600 in April.
