Starting with the September 2021, and Q3 2021 returns Short Term Rental tax will be filed using MuniRevs.  Returns will no longer be available on XpressBillPay for Short Term Rental properties.  Please check your email inbox for an email from support@munirevs.com for a new account number and activation code.

Regular businesses and Management Companies will continue to use XpressBillPay to file their sales tax returns.

The Town of Breckenridge is committed to economical and ecological solutions that improve processes.  We are looking for ways to get things done better, faster, and cheaper, and are pleased to announce our online sales tax filing system.  In anticipation of the online system, tax booklets were not sent this year.  We will be converting to a paperless system over the next couple years.  In the future the Town of Breckenridge may not accept paper returns, or move to phasing out a paper return.  A paperless process will eliminate the need for postage expense and the time required to mail a check every period.

Town of Breckenridge has chosen Xpress Bill Pay for our online sales tax filing system (see information below).  Letters were sent to tax filers at the end of August 2013.  You will need this letter when you log into Xpressbillpay.com for the first time.  Individuals that pay their Utility Bill (water) for the Town of Breckenridge through Xpress Bill Pay will already have a log in.  Otherwise, you will create a new login and use your Account Number and PIN to access your account online.  You can even pay your sales tax on your smart phone while in your pajamas! And the best part is Xpress Bill Pay does the math for you.

Inability to use the new Online Sales Tax system does not relieve you of your duty to file & remit all taxes in a timely manner. Please contact us if you are experiencing difficulty.  Line by Line Instructions may be found in the General Tax Information Guide.  We recommend that you review this document in its entirety.

It is also important to note that we have a separate form for filing sales tax on the “sale of assets other than inventory.” If you are planning to sell or purchase an existing business, please be sure that the correct amount of sales tax is collected on the sale of all tangible personal property, not included in inventory, associated with the sale. These items include, but are not limited to, computers, desks, chairs, tables, mattresses, etc. Sale of assets also applies to furnishings purchased with the sale of a home. This form is due on the 20th of the month following the sale.
